Unwinding in the world’s first underwater spa, surrounded by the hypnotic blues of the Indian Ocean, remains one of my most unforgettable Maldivian experiences. I arrived expecting a traditional lie-flat treatment but soon discovered that Huvafen Fushi elevates wellness to an entirely new level, quite literally. There I was, sat upright, suspended in a dreamlike state as marine life drifted past, enjoying a sensory escape unlike anything I had ever imagined.
The accommodation embodies modern luxury with effortless ease. My villa, an architectural masterpiece of sleek lines and contemporary elegance, was an oasis of indulgence. The presence of both a front and back private pool was a decadent surprise, one for soaking with endless ocean views, the other for a more secluded dip under the stars. Every detail, from the crisp linens to the intuitive design, has been meticulously curated for a truly wonderful retreat.
A special mention must go to SALT, the resorts Japanese dining with a Latin influence. The presentation was so exquisite it almost seemed too perfect to eat, but I’m glad I did. Every bite was a revelation, a masterful balance of flavours that danced on the palate with precision. The freshness of the ingredients, the delicate craftsmanship, and the oceanfront setting combined to create a dining experience that was nothing short of sensational.
