Constance Moofushi occupies an enviable position in the South Ari Atoll, a region globally celebrated for its exceptional diving sites. Combining luxury with a relaxed island lifestyle, this luxury, yet super-laidback resort plays tribute to the true essence of a Maldivian private island, where the motto “no shoes, no news” becomes a cherished reality. Guests are invited to embrace a barefoot existence, shedding the trappings of everyday life for a treasured escape. The resort's emphasis on simplicity and disconnection from the digital world creates a sanctuary of peace, perfect for rejuvenating the mind and soul. Whether exploring the atoll’s underwater treasures or simply soaking up the tranquil surroundings, Moofushi offers an unparalleled getaway.
The villas at Constance Moofushi, whether perched over the water or along the shoreline, exhibit a harmonious blend of style and simplicity. Crafted with natural materials and subtle, neutral tones, each space reflects the soul of the Maldives, flawlessly complementing the island’s pristine environment. The accommodation provides a calming retreat, equipped with modern comforts such as air-conditioning, complimentary WiFi, an LCD TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities. A standout feature of the stay is the generous mini bar included in the all-inclusive package, restocked daily with a curated selection of wines, beers, soft drinks, and snacks, ensuring guests are well-catered to throughout their time in paradise.
Dining at Constance Moofushi strikes a perfect balance between variety and laid-back charm. Guests have two enticing choices: the main buffet, where the menu evolves daily to showcase a diverse selection of flavours and dishes, and the Ă la carte beach grill, known for its fresh, flavourful seafood served against the stunning backdrop of the ocean. The beach grill also stands out for its attentive yet informal service, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both special yet unpretentious. Families are thoughtfully catered to, with dedicated options for children available across all dining venues, ensuring everyone enjoys a memorable culinary experience.
Exploring the ocean from Constance Moofushi is an experience like no other. Guests can embark on a range of water-based adventures, including snorkelling excursions, dolphin spotting, and tranquil sunset cruises. However, the true highlight lies just steps away on the resort’s house reef. Brimming with an astonishing array of marine life — such as baby sharks, lionfish, snappers, and stingrays — it offers an awe-inspiring glimpse into the ocean’s beauty. For the fortunate few, manta rays, whale sharks, and playful dolphins may make an appearance, as they often pass through the area during their migration. On land, the resort ensures there’s plenty to keep guests entertained. It’s worth noting that even though Moofushi is a children-friendly resort there is no kids club on the island.

Constance Moofushi has long been renowned for its extraordinary house reef, teeming with vibrant marine life and intricate coral formations. Snorkelling here is nothing short of spectacular. In fact, during my stay, two friends joined a boat trip only to return and agree they had encountered more marine life right by the resort than they did further afield, proof of just how special Moofushi’s underwater world truly is.
Beyond the reef, the resort itself embraces a laid-back, rustic-luxe aesthetic. The villas, though slightly more compact than some Maldivian counterparts, exude a charming shabby-chic vibe that feels both authentic and laidback. For those who prefer understated elegance over glossy modernity, this style is a perfect fit. Whilst my Water Villa didn’t have a bathtub, just a shower. I was pleased to learn that the Senior Water Villas do offer baths for those who prefer a long soak to the sound ocean.
The all-inclusive offering is generous yet mindful, striking the right balance between indulgence and sustainability. There’s plenty of variety without excessive waste, and everything aligns seamlessly with Constance’s high standards.
As for my personal highlight? Watching the sun dip into the horizon each evening, only to be followed by dazzling stargazing sessions, a memory I’ll always cherish.
